How to find good directories where you can submit your blog for free?
I am amazed by the number of times I have been asked this simple question. I have answered it many times, now is the time to (finally) write it down once and for all.
IT IS EASY!
All you have to do is type in Google: Free submit blog
You will then get a list with http://www.topblogarea.com/ and http://www.dmegs.com/ on the first page of results. You can also do a similar search in Alexa.com even though it will provide you with very similar results. They are great directories with good Page Rank (PR) and Alexa rank.
Follow the guidelines, all the directories do not accept blogs which have just been set up. You may have to update your blog for a couple of months before you can submit it.
Make sure to read all. Don’t be lazy! If you are serious about your blog, and serious about the promotion of your website, then read carefully the guidelines and make sure to do as they say. If not, your blog may never be indexed. Successfully submitting your blog title and description does not guarantee inclusion.
If you do not provide a link back / reciprocal link to the directory (that’s what you see at the bottom of the present text) , then your blog will never appear in the listing.
That’s because the directory bot (some sort of robot) will get back to the directory saying it is missing after it has crawled (examined) your blog.
It is time consuming, it’s true, to fill up the forms, create a number of IDs and passwords that you will end up never using again. It may also take a little bit of organization to keep track of the directories so that you submit to each one time only.
It’s worth it. You may not get as much visitors as you wish, but if you don’t submit your blog to directories you are very likely to get almost no visit at all!
Smart Tip: Create a post on your blog or a special page on your website where you post all the reciprocal links. This way they won’t appear on your precious landing page / homepage. You want this special page to have text too, instead of only links. So, write about your experience of submiting your blog in the same time. Readers love it and search engines will give you good points for that too.
